About McBride

Originally his photographs were all captured on 35mm and 6x6 cm color transparency (slide) film. But the introduction of the fourth generation professional digital cameras in 2012 offered better resolution and color detail than film, so he’s finally put all his film cameras on the shelf.

His prints have won awards in numerous juried shows, and have been purchased by several large companies, including Kaiser Permanente, to decorate their facilities. Galleries in the Central Valley and on the coast feature his work. Plus he’s done commercial work for some top Northern California wineries.

McBride specializes in Fine Art Landscape prints; but he also designs and prints limited edition posters and photographic books. You can see more examples of his work and purchase prints, posters or books from the home page.

About His Photographs

Jack McBride has been doing award-winning travel and landscape photography for more than twenty years. He approaches his subject as an artist rather than as a documentary photographer, which means he uses artistic license to alter his images when necessary to produce the emotional response from the viewer that he envisioned at the location.

As an Advertising Director for global companies such as Polaroid, McDonald’s, General Mills and the Gallo Winery, McBride worked with many of the top commercial photographers in the world. All the while he was building his own portfolio based on these experiences. McBride has a Degree in Communication Arts from the University of Notre Dame and is a former U.S. Naval Officer.

He shoots across the West but his favorite targets are Yosemite, Big Sur, San Francisco, the Eastern Sierra, Mendocino and the “Wine Country”.
